The Gin Cocktail Your Winter was Missing...

Think Gin is a summer drink? Think again! We came up with a way to make Gin an all year round beverage with our Hot Gin Toddy.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of Gin (we used Roku, a Japanese Gin because it has a hint of green tea to it that we thought complemented the hot nature of this cocktail)

  • 1 x bottle of Madeira Wine

  • 2 x big juicy lemons

  • 1 x tablespoon of honey

  • 3 x cloves (and some extra to garnish)

  • 1 x pinch nutmeg

  • 1 x teaspoon cinnamon

  • Fruit of choice (we went for some sliced tinned pineapple)

Method

1. Set up your drinking vessels, add your fruit and prepare your garnish. We put slices of pineapple at the bottom of the mug and infused it with desired amount of gin and set them aside.

2. We used a biolite to heat, adding our spices, the left over juice from the pineapple tin, one and a half lemons juiced, honey and Madeira Wine. We allowed it to warm through without cooking off the alcohol while stirring.

3. Pour over your gin infused fruit

4. Find a spot with a view and enjoy your creation!
